Chrysalis Collection
With a background in fashion and architecture, I challenged myself to design a collection that could not only be sophisticated, but one that also revolved around sustainability. I came across rolls of paper that were used in the pleating and preservation of fine fabrics, and they proved to be quite durable and malleable.
With that in mind, I worked with each model to carefully pick items from their wardrobe that were no longer of any use to them. I then created a base upon which I shaped and molded the paper to create the silhouettes I had envisioned.
The only look that did not have paper was the sensual silk printed one-sleeve dress that was actually my mother's sari re-purposed, thus maintaining the sustainable theme.
